 NPC-CIMPOR having been granted permission by the department of Environmental Affairs to proceed with the environmental impact assessment phase of their
AFR program began their alternate fuel trials in mid-August. The trials are expected to make a very positive contribution to non-renewable resource conservation. The procedure, known as co-processing, will enable
NPC-CIMPOR to use less non-renewable coal, its traditional primary fuel source. These waste trials are expected to be an environmental success.
